The technical meeting and the eighteen-months’ period review of the METPEX project (MEasurement Tool to determine the quality of Passenger EXperience) was concluded on 2nd April 2014 in Valencia, Spain. The two-days Meeting and the one-day Review, was attended by approximately 20 Consortium Members from the research teams of the 16 European partner organizations of the METPEX project. The Meetings were organized and hosted by ITENE (Instituto Tecnológico del Embalaje, Transporte y Logística) in Valencia, Spain.

The two-day Consortium Meeting was led by the Project Coordinator from Coventry University, Professor Andree Woodcock. The participants discussed about the progress of its different work packages and the completion of WP2 and WP3, focussed to the milestones and outcomes achieved and to the development of METPEX measurement instruments respectively (Visit https://metpex.eu/research-results/ for more information). Until now the MEPTEX Project consolidated the existing information and will run a pilot study across METPEX partner countries with end users, which can be used to measure different aspects of the passenger journey. In the other hand, stakeholder groups will be consulted – passenger action groups, government organisations, local authorities, regional employers and transport operators – in order to determine how METPEX and its results can be more usable and impactful.

Furthermore, the participants of the METPEX Technical Meeting discussed the planned activities for the forthcoming period, the administrative and management procedures as well as the dissemination strategy. The development and use of the METPEX toolset in 8 sites (Bucharest (Romania), Coventry (UK), Dublin (Ireland), Rome (Italy), Stockholm (Sweden), Grevena (Greece), Valencia (Spain) and Vilnius (Lithuania) will take place on September – October and this will also include the METPEX game and satnavigation.

The 18 months review, which took place the day after the meeting, confirmed that the project is on track and it counted with the attendance of Ms. Natascia Lai, Project Officer of the European Commission.
