METPEX was presented to an audience of public transport stakeholders and professionals in Turin (Italy)
The METPEX project was presented to an audience of public transport stakeholders and professionals, during a seminar held in Turin (Italy), on Friday 10th May 2013.
The focus of the seminar was on quality issues in local public transport. Some of the most relevant aspects have been covered through a series of presentations, including a review of PT quality measurement methods in the EU, an analysis on the European norm EN13816 and additional discussions on the role of monitoring systems, maintenance actions and technology implementations. Following these presentations, a panel discussion involved the main transport policy makers and stakeholders in northern Italy, including Piedmont Region, Turin metropolitan mobility agency, Turin Province, and some PT operators.
The seminar was organised by the Italian association of transport engineers (www.aiit.it ) and was attended by more than 30 key players in this field. These stakeholders have been involved in the project to gather their views on METPEX and the related ongoing technical activities, that will inform the work of workpackages 2 and 8.
